Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 15:10
What is Giving?
The word giving means to freely give the possession of something to someone else. Giving means to allow someone to have something. The most powerful form of love and generosity is giving without expecting anything in return. Greed and selfishness are sins that we must work toward abolishing. It is important to think of what you can do for others and not what you can do for yourself.
When you give in the right spirit, your motives are to help, and to be a blessing. When you give from the heart, all you are thinking about is showing the love of God and being a help to whomever is in need. In addition to this, it brings a connection between you and the receiver. Giving brings you closer to God because you are being obedient to his Word. You should give your last, and not look at whom you are giving it to. Unselfish giving will make you feel good on the inside. The word of God says “it is better to give than to receive,” (Acts 20:35) giving gives you a sense of joy and purpose. So if you want to feel good, then do well and give! In closing, give because it will help others and it will make a difference. Be obedient to the Word of God and continue to be that light shines in darkness.
