Giving with a purpose

To give-freely devote or sacrifice for a purpose.
freely transfer possession of something to someone, hand over, offer, donate
Genesis 4 and 4 says And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof.
And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering. We must give God what is due to him
off the top, not pay bills or other things first.
Galatians 6 and 6 says Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth
in all good things.  This tells us how to give to leadership, how we are to share with them.
Giving is an act of worship!!!
1st Corinthians 16 and 2 says Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in
store, as GOD hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. This means that
we should earnestly seek God on what to give besides our tithes and offerings so that it be enough
to share with other churches. This act of worship goes along with Sunday worship service. When
we put money in the plate we are worshipping GOD according to his word.
Here are 3 questions to ask yourself about your giving.
1. Is my giving abundant(plentiful) or inhibited(holding part back)?
2. Am I considered an obedient giver in the eyes of the Lord? (am I truly seeking GOD on
what to give, and am I following what GOD says.)
3. Is giving to the church a priority for me? (do I really care about the status of my church
and the things in it that keep it going electric, water, etc.)?
